Not more than a few months ago, shelter dogs Kala and Keira sensed their lives coming to an end. But then, something incredible happened.
Only hours before they were to be euthanized the two shared an emotional embrace - one that was fortunately captured in a photo. The picture was then shared online, and requests to adopt the two mutts came by the hundreds. Minutes later, they'd found a home. And now, they couldn't be happier.
This was the picture taken of Kala and Keira hours before they were to be euthanized.
Little did they know their fearful, loving embrace would save their lives.
Now Kala, an 11-month-old hound mix, and Keira, a 15-month-old boxer mix, have a permanent home with loving owners.
And despite being free and clear from threat of death, the two are still completely inseparable.
And as you can see, they couldn't be happier to have a second chance at life.
