Soldier Meets a Pregnant Dog. Now Watch What He Does With Her Puppies!

In 2013, Edwin Caba and his fellow American soldiers were surprised to discover a pregnant dog who was incredibly sick.


The men bonded with her and began taking care of her as their own. She went on patrols with them, waiting every night for them.


When they had learned she was pregnant, they knew there would be no way the babies could survive because she was starving. They began sharing their food with her out of their rations.


She eventually gave birth to seven puppies and the soldiers showed them just as much love, offering them some rations as well.


When it came time to leave Afghanistan, Sgt. Caba had a hard time living with the thought of leaving them behind. He decided he would take the puppies with him.


The New York-based group Guardians of Rescue got wind of this and after generous donations, they went through the trouble of rehabilitating all eight dogs and sending them on a journey to get to the States. The dogs traveled through India and eventually to the United States.


They were featured all over national TV and Sgt. Caba even got to be interviewed by Anderson Cooper But they didn't care about all of that. The dogs managed to give the men a sense of normalcy during their time overseas. They bonded, and now each of the soldiers has a special dog to bring home.
